Hacktoberfest 2026 Amman

Hacktoberfest is upon us so come join us in a one day hackathon where local developers, students, and open source enthusiasts will team up to compete, build and submit projects that utilize open source tools and open-weight AI models (such as Llama, Mistral, and Gemma), and at the end of the day three projects will win prizes.

Criteria:

Each team should include 3-4 members, all teams will submit their code repository, live demo link, and project description directly through MLH and the main challenge will be creating the best open source AI project and the best projects will be chosen through the following criteria:

• Challenge Alignment: Core usage of open source tooling or open-weight AI models.
• Technical Execution: Functionality and working status during the live demo.
• Originality & Practicality: Creativity and utility of the solution.
• Learning & Effort: Problem-solving depth and skill development demonstrated during the day.
• Clarity & Presentation: Effectiveness in communicating project mechanics and impact.

Agenda:

• 09:00 AM: Arrival & Check-in
• 10:00 AM: Hackathon Starts (includes Lunch Break)
• 07:00 PM: Hacking Ends
• 07:00 PM - 09:00 PM: Demos & Closing Ceremony

Prizes:

Three winning teams will be selected and announced at the end of the day, and on top of the skills they learn they will also be rewarded with the following prizes:

• First Place: 1000 JOD
• Second Place: 500 JOD
• Third Place: 250 JOD
